Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Since LLNL’s inception in 1952, its scientific and nuclear weapons missions have needed to understand internal structure and makeup of a variety of industrial parts, subcomponents and full assemblies using Nondestructive Characterization (NDC) techniques. NCI, while formed later, encompasses all aspects of this NDC work, including spin-off academic, commercial, and government projects, many of which are unique in the world. The timeline below shows the scope and size of this effort over the years.
